![]() Cory EdwardsIs One Funny Guy!Stand-Up Comedy:
If you like Jerry Seinfeld, David Letterman, Brian Regan, and some old-school Steve Martin, you'll really enjoy Cory's take on everyday life, extrapolated to bizarre extremes! While Cory is similar to these famous comics, he adds his own unique brand of physical comedy, multiple voices and high-energy that keeps him jumping, stumbling, and falling all over the stage. His tried-and-true material has been workshopped in front of hundreds of audiences, yet he is still able to improvise with it on stage. The bottom line for Cory is FUN, with a little sarcasm, and a lot of disarming self-deprecation that makes him the butt of his own jokes.
Emcee/Hosting:
Cory has emceed for live events and live television for ten years, and has the ability to improvise at a moment's notice. Last minute announcements and hang-ups in schedule never phase this guy. His announcer's voice and showmanship will demand a crowd's focus at any event. Cory is always funny, but his bottom line is professionalism, and "taking care of the audience." When Cory takes the stage, your event is in good hands.
Illustration:
Aside from his experience in front of the camera, Cory is a cartoon illustrator and has been known to wow young student audiences with the impromptu sketches that often accompany his presentations. He is also a filmmaker and partner in Blue Yonder Films, and has directed over 30 music videos, doing his own storyboarding, editing, and writing. He and his partners produced an independent feature film that went to the Sundance Film Festival, and Cory has just directed his first feature. He and his partners are always pitching screenplays and TV concepts around Hollywood.
"I feel very fortunate to say that I love what I do, and making a room full of people laugh is one of the best jobs in the world. So any given night, I'm watching the crowd and tailoring my material to the people. Smiling isn't good enough. if you're slapping the table and repeating the lines on the way home, then I've done my job!" Bio He also hosted a live, 4-hour national television special, broadcast from Disneyworld and was the on-air host of the nationally syndicated radio show, Reasons To Believe in Los Angeles. Combining his comedic skills and off-the-cuff hosting experience, Cory has also acted as the Master of Ceremonies for all kinds of events from weddings to the Gospel Music Association Spotlight Awards.
"A sure-fire hit! Cory's creative and physical comedy reaches a broad range of people. He has something for everyone." Terry Risser, Pastor The night Cory took the stage was a great night: upbeat atmosphere, packed house, and a ton of smiles! Huge laughs when Cory talked about kids in the mall, Willard Scott and old people, and .The Lord of the Shorts.. That's when I lost it! Thanks for making our event a success. Rex Stump, Crossroads Church, Waseon, Ohio I have not laughed like that in a long time! I was up in the balcony, and the theater staff came in to listen. This one woman was laughing so hard during his routine that she had to grab hold of the chair in front of her so she wouldn't fall into the aisle. As I said, epically funny! Amanda |
