The premier artist of Civil War music

Bobby Horton is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, music historian, and seasoned performer. With thirty-plus years as a member of the musical/comedy group Three on a String, he has also produced and performed music for eight Ken Burns PBS films, two programs for the A & E Network, and nine films for the National Park Service, among others. He has performed his concert/lecture .Songs and Stories from the Civil War. from coast to coast since 1985.
Residing in Birmingham, Alabama, Bobby Horton has contributed to many projects, including Ken Burns' specials: The Civil War, Baseball, Thomas Jefferson, Lewis and Clark, and Frank Lloyd Wright. He has also contributed to the Talonsoft computer games Shiloh and Antietam. These and many, many other productions bear the talent of this established musician. Bobby Horton continues to contribute to documentary films, as well as playing live as a solo artist and with his band. His 14-volume series of music from The War Between the States has been acclaimed and recommended by publications and historical organizations throughout the United States and Europe, and has been featured at many National Battlefield Parks.
